This section specifically details the data handling practices of our Android application, CoolFirePD. This app is designed to function without requiring user accounts or collecting personally identifiable information like names or email addresses directly for account creation.

Health Connect Integration

Our app utilizes Health Connect on your Android device to provide its core functionality. This integration requires your explicit permission, granted through the Health Connect interface, for our app to both read certain health data and write certain health data.

1. Data Read from Health Connect:

• Permissions Requested: We request read permissions for the following data types within Health Connect:
  • Steps
  • Distance
  • Calories Burned
• Purpose: We access this data (Steps, Distance, Calories) solely to display your health and activity metrics within the CoolFirePD app interface. This allows you to view your progress as recorded by other apps or devices connected to Health Connect (including data previously synced by our app from your CoolFirePD device).
• Storage: Our app does not store this health data read from Health Connect on our servers or persistently within the app's local storage. It is accessed for real-time display only.

2. Data Written to Health Connect:

• Permissions Requested: We request write permissions for the following data types within Health Connect:
  • Steps
  • Distance
  • Calories Burned
• Source of Data: The data written to Health Connect originates from the CoolFirePD device, which you purchase separately and connect to the CoolFirePD app.
• Purpose: We write this data (Steps, Distance, Calories) obtained from your CoolFirePD device solely to sync this information into your central Health Connect repository. The CoolFirePD app acts as a conduit to pass this data from your connected CoolFirePD device to Health Connect, allowing you to consolidate your health data.
• Storage: Our app does not store this health data long-term before or after writing it to Health Connect. It is processed transiently for the purpose of syncing.

Limited Use Disclosure:

The CoolFirePD app's use of information received from Health Connect APIs adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed via Health Connect is not used for advertising, transferred to data brokers, used for creditworthiness checks, or any purpose other than providing the described in-app features (displaying data read from Health Connect, syncing data from your CoolFirePD device to Health Connect).

Data Retention and Deletion

As stated above, the CoolFirePD app does not store the health data accessed from or written to Health Connect. The data resides within your device's Health Connect storage or on your connected CoolFirePD device.

• Managing Your Data: You have full control over your data within Health Connect. You can view, manage, and delete your data directly within the Health Connect application settings on your device.
• Managing App Permissions: You can revoke the CoolFirePD app's permission to read or write data at any time via the Health Connect application settings on your device. Revoking permission will stop the app from accessing or writing data going forward.

Other Data Collected

To improve app performance and stability, the CoolFirePD app utilizes Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to collect crash reports.

• Purpose: This helps us identify, analyze, and fix bugs and crashes within the application.
• Data Collected: Crashlytics may collect information such as device state information, device hardware and OS information, details about the app's state at the time of a crash, and potentially unique identifiers like the Advertising ID (AD_ID) if available and configured within the service. This information is processed by Google Firebase primarily for crash analysis and does not directly identify you to us in the reports.
• Use of Identifiers: Any identifiers collected (like AD_ID) are used solely for debugging, crash analysis, and distinguishing unique instances within aggregate reports; they are not linked with your sensitive Health Connect data by our app, nor are they used by us for advertising purposes.
• Exclusion: This crash data does not include your Health Connect data (Steps, Distance, Calories).
• Retention: This data is retained according to Google's Firebase policies and used by us solely for troubleshooting and improving app stability.
